Juliet Kanongovere is a community member who has benefitted from the potable water facility at Madhodha SBU in Mhondoro Ngezi
Things were difficult for us as we were drinking water from the dam. The water was very dirty as we were sharing it with cattle and donkeys. We are lucky not to have suffered from any diarrheal diseases.
The dam is quite a distance from our homesteads and it was hard for us to go to the dam to collect water. The distance is about 1,5km to the dam.
The ground was uneven and filled with stones which made it difficult to manoeuvre to the dam site. Some community members charged US$7 to collect 2 drum of water which was beyond our reach.
