The Smallholder Agriculture Cluster Project (SACP) successfully conducted a comprehensive Management Information System (MIS) training, equipping 79 SACP and LEAD staff (27 females and 52 males) with essential skills to enhance data-driven decision-making.
The training covered key modules including:
- Introduction to Monitoring and Evaluation Concepts
- Creation of User Accounts and Access Control
- Basics of the SACP MIS
- Uploading Activity Registers into the MIS
- Data Quality Dimensions
- Data Security
Participants gained practical experience in maintaining data integrity through audit trails, ensuring accountability and transparency in all system activities. The training sessions emphasized access control protocols to safeguard sensitive project information and prevent unauthorized data manipulation. The MIS ensured that the project team generate reports which are disaggregated by gender, age and PWD ensuring inclusivity and accountability to vulnerable groups. SACP MIS compares achievements vs. targets across all activities, allowing project managers to identify areas of success and gaps needing intervention. The MIS training marks a significant milestone toward strengthening the project’s monitoring and evaluation framework, ensuring that data collected from field activities is accurate, secure, and reflective of the diverse communities served.
