45 extension officers were trained on construction site management in December 2024. The officers underwent the that will enable them to supervise contractors working on infrastructure projects that will be set up by the project. SACP will establish 70 multipurpose community water points for 2024 and 20 sites have so far been established in Hwange and Lupane, Matabeleland North Province.
The training was facilitated by engineers from the Smallholder Agriculture Cluster Project (SACP), Department of Irrigation and the Zimbabwe National Water Authority.
The extension officers shall be the resident supervisors of the projects backed with technical expertise from extension officers seconded by SACP as well as the Rural Infrastructure Development Authority (RIDA) personnel.
