PROJECT BACKGROUND
The Smallholder Agriculture Cluster Project (SACP) is a collaborative initiative between the Government of Zimbabwe and the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), launched in 2021. The
project aims to enhance the productivity and incomes of smallholder farmers by transforming the small-scale farming sector into a more market-oriented and climate-resilient system.
POST A: 1 X FINANCE GRADUATE TRAINEE, HARARE
POST B: 1 X PROCUREMENT GRADUATE, TRAINEE, HARARE
Reporting to the Finance Officer / Chief Accountant the incumbent will assist the Finance Unit in managing expenditure-related tasks, ensuring compliance with financial policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Support daily payments and reconciliation of accounts.
- Help in processing invoices and verifying payment claims.
- Assist in internal and external audits related to expenditure.
- Maintain financial records and filing systems.
- Monitor staff travel advances and expense reimbursements.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and donor
requirements. - Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Competences - Recent Graduate with Bachelor’s Degree in Finance,
Accounting, or a related field. - Strong analytical and numerical skills.
- Proficiency in financial SAGE Pastel software and Microsoft
Excel. - Attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
- Ability to work in a diverse environment.
POST B: 1 X PROCUREMENT GRADUATE TRAINEE, HARARE - Reporting to the Procurement Assistant / Officer the incumbent will assist the Procurement Unit in managing procurement processes, supply chain management, and contract administration while contributing to impactful projects in the agricultural sector.
Key Responsibilities - Assist in the preparation and execution of procurement
documents, including requests for quotations (RFQs), tenders,
and purchase orders. - Support the procurement team in identifying and researching
potential suppliers/vendors to meet project needs. - Participate in evaluation of bids and helping to select the most
appropriate vendors based on established criteria. - Maintain accurate and organized procurement records, logs,
and databases. - Assist in tracking and reporting on delivery timelines, and
supplier performance. - Contribute to the development and maintenance of procurement
policies and procedures. - Help prepare reports and presentations related to procurement
activities and project updates. - Collaborate with team members on various procurement-related
tasks and projects as needed. - Engage with stakeholders to facilitate communication and
support procurement objectives.
Qualifications: - Recent Graduate with Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain
Management, or a related field. - Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with procurement processes and supply chain
concepts is a plus. - Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team
environment. - Demonstrated interest in agriculture and sustainable
development is an advantage.
