The Smallholder Agriculture Cluster Project has commenced with the rehabilitation of Nhakayedu Irrigation Scheme in Kwekwe. The 20-hectare irrigation scheme has 28 beneficiaries and was established in 2004. The rehabilitation works will include the change of the irrigation system to drip irrigation as well as the installation of a standby pumping unit.
The project will rehabilitate 1780 hectares of irrigation schemes in Matabeleland North, Midlands, Mashonaland West, Mashonaland East and Mashonaland Central.
